Unveiling Global Restoration Partners

GRP’s aim is to fundamentally benefit the relationship between businesses, landowners and communities to enable them to sustainably protect and enhance their natural environment.

A word from our founders

This is the last chance at the recovery of our Earth

This is the last chance for our earth to recover from the brink of devastation. The steady degradation of the planet combined with the erosion of knowledge, science and governance has thrust to the forefront of human existence,  the need for urgent, scalable, focused, inclusive and decisive action. It is for us, the citizens of Africa to take control of our destiny, make ourselves bankable and set the example for the rest of the planet by investing our hearts, minds, souls, blood, sweat and tears into Africa’s soil, water, air, plants, animals and especially our fellow human beings.

GRP is an implementation and monitoring company creating viable conservation projects in addition to facilitating financial mechanisms to make them sustainable, ensuring ongoing management. The core business of GRP is the consolidation of demarcated landscapes for ratification as legal set-asides, as Private Natures Reserves (PNRs), in terms of National Law while trading the rights to habitat, carbon, biodiversity and social credits available on current and future markets.

How We Do What We Do

Message to our Contributors

It is common cause that protecting vulnerable and ecological sensitive areas from degradation and creating a platform for future socially, ecological, and environmentally accretive initiatives is a ‘Now Intervention’.

GRP is an implementation and monitoring company creating viable conservation projects in addition to facilitating financial mechanisms to make them sustainable, ensuring ongoing management. The core business of GRP is the consolidation of demarcated landscapes for ratification as legal set-asides, as Private Natures Reserves (PNRs), in terms of National Law while trading the rights to habitat, carbon, biodiversity, nature and social credits available on current and future markets.

GRP's Unique Conservation & Biodiversity Projects

National Parks and other protected areas represent, on average, only 9-15% of the total surface area of a given African country, leaving most of the land without any formalised protection. This is contrary to the United Nations Global Goals and universal call for 30% set-aside of the earth by 2030.

GRP appreciates the value of natural capital and seeks to generate carbon credits and other biodiversity-nature-based credits in the longer term, through a unique project-based business model which will leverage legal mechanisms in key African jurisdictions, allowing for the formal, long-term, legal protection of land of high biodiversity and conservation value. GRP has established relationships with landowners of identified Project Areas in need of critical biodiversity and habitat remedial interventions in South Africa, Mozambique and Liberia.

Where we do it

The Wildlife Protection Zones Model

GRP will be working in conjunction with the Wildlife Protection Zones Initiative. Government has already launched a series of initiatives that are being rapidly implemented to dilute the dependence on the Department of Fisheries Forestry and Environment (DFFE) framework in what is known as “the Wildlife Protection Zones (DFFE 2000) Model”. This model demarcates private and community lands within strategically selected critical habitat areas as strongholds to conserve rare and endangered ‘flagship’ species such as the Big 5, and especially the southern white and black rhinoceros.

What makes us different

How the GRP process differs

Why Quality Matters!

“Not all carbon projects genuinely deliver the impact they claim. Therefore, the credits they issue do not genuinely represent a tonne of CO2e. When these credits are used for offsetting or to make other climate claims, they undermine global efforts to decarbonize and deflect effort and funding away from other essential actions”

Our parting message…

Unveiling Global Restoration: Solving Global Challenges

Conservation, enhancement of natural assets and appropriate and sustainable land-use are central themes across the globe. We are in a Climate and Biodiversity Emergency!

How are conservation efforts to be implemented in the absence of sustainable monetisation models and in a way that is transparent, effective and efficient and above all, replicable and scalable? How can they be developed for the benefit of both biodiversity and communities? How can they be implemented NOW?

Global Restoration Partners Limited lives by the creed that these are universal problems that can only be solved with local solutions. GRP’s model is unique in the conservation space; offering a blueprint designed to prevent degradation and set the platform for future additionalities, restoration projects, rewilding initiatives and community business developments. Most importantly, it numerically quantifies every process and method, every investment and return, ultimately designed to add benefit to our Corporate Partner/s and their operations.

As empty shells of failed conservation projects fill the African landscape, the ultimate aim of any modern conservation project should be to achieve both financial and ecological relevance in its constitution combined with transparency and sustainability in its execution.
